This list is published, not monitored. An address that opens is not an address that is genuine, and the check that settles it takes under a minute.
Funding an account
Mechanically simple. It carries the two mistakes on this site that nothing can reverse.
- What this step is
- Sending funds from your own wallet to a one time deposit address issued by the platform.
- How to prepare
- The money, held in a wallet you control, acquired in a way you have thought about.
- What you will see
- A fresh deposit address, usually with a note that it is valid for this deposit only.
- How it works
- The address is a one time destination, so two payments cannot be linked by where they went. That property is most of the point and reusing an old address defeats it.
- How long it takes
- About two minutes to first confirmation, about ten more to credit. Twenty minutes without movement is worth investigating, an hour is worth asking about.
- What you will experience
- A stretch of nothing happening while you refresh a balance. This is normal and is where people talk themselves into a second payment.
- What can go wrong
- Two things that cannot be undone, described below, plus ordinary delays covered in missing deposit.
- Benefits and limits
- Funding puts money where an order can use it. It does not put it inside escrow, which only happens when it is committed to an order.
The two permanent mistakes
How much
What you intend to spend soon. Not what you might spend eventually, not a round number, not a buffer. A balance sitting on a platform is outside escrow and outside every protection described anywhere on this site, and it is the most frequent loss in this whole subject with no attacker involved at all.
The argument for funding once and generously is fee efficiency, and the fees involved are a fraction of a cent. That is buying convenience with an unlimited downside to save an amount too small to name.
If nothing appears
Check your own wallet before contacting anybody, because the answer is almost always visible there. Confirmed or not, how many confirmations, which address it actually went to, and whether the full amount left. Never send a second payment to fix the first, which turns one stuck transaction into two and accelerates nothing.
