Order is overdue
Most of what determines the outcome happens before you open anything. This page is about not spending your position badly.
Which situation is this
| Situation | Recoverable? | First move |
|---|---|---|
| Window still open | Yes, entirely | Wait. Nothing you do now improves it and filing damages it. |
| Window closed, nothing arrived | Usually | File with the order reference, dates and the unedited thread. |
| Arrived, not as described | Often, partly | Document first, then file naming a specific remedy. |
| Vendor has gone quiet | Usually | Silence is weighed by the panel. Let the record show it. |
| Paid outside escrow | No | There is no mechanism. This is the one unrecoverable case. |
| Market unreachable | Yes, unaffected | A network outage has no effect on an escrow contract. Wait. |
What to submit
The form expects a record and most people submit a narrative, which is the weakest thing you can hand an arbitrator. Order reference and dates first, the message thread unedited, whatever delivery evidence exists in the form you actually have, and one named outcome. Nothing else, because a tight submission gets read and a long one gets skimmed.
What makes it worse
- Arguing inside the ticket. The panel is not an audience for your disagreement with the vendor.
- Threatening feedback. Visible to the arbitrator and it reads as pressure.
- Going public first. A thread moves no funds and commits you to a version of events before the record exists.
- Accepting a private settlement. That removes the only leverage you have.
The full procedure, including timings, is on opening a dispute.
